A nationally known speaker and President of Sapphire Blue Investment Partners, Inc., Fred Hensler has advised countless individuals on strategies to help create and manage wealth.

As a successful entrepreneur and business owner, Fred set out on a mission to un-complicate the often complicated world of financial management. Author of the investment series "The Ostrich Syndrome: How to Get Your Head Out of the Sand and Take Control of Your Financial Future", Fred believes that everyone can learn from the mistakes of others and create positive change in their lives.

Sometimes called the financial advisor's advisor - Fred has taught his strategies to not only individuals and corporations, but other financial advisors as well. His goal is to provide investors with power-packed, actionable investment management and financial planning ideas that they can implement immediately to potentially improve their life.

In his freshman year at Michigan State University, Fred became an active member of Delta Chi Fraternity. Graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree, he continued his commitment to assuring the success of the fraternity and its standards as a member of the Housing Board of Directors. Fred also is a respected member of the Board of Directors for the Whaley Center for children, an organization that rehabilitates some of Michigan's most traumatized and abused youth.

His greatest passion, however, is making a positive impact on the financial status of his clients. We are fortunate to be surrounded by several brilliant financial minds, and we utilize those relationships to build total wealth management programs for our clients. We would welcome your inquiries.

Dan Draper

Executive Vice President

The world of wealth management and investments can be extremely complicated and often overwhelming.  For most, the decision to participate in this world is not an option, it is a necessity.  The advisor you choose to help you navigate this financial journey is a decision which should not be taken lightly.  Unfortunately, today's title of "Financial Advisor" holds no guarantee of intellect, ability, or even ethical integrity.  These are characteristics that can only be proven over time inside a relationship.  I would be honored to have the opportunity to build this trusted advisor relationship with you.

Driven by passion for investments and helping others achieve financial success, Dan joined the team at Sapphire Blue Investment Partners in 2004.  He believes that an independent financial advisor can do the best job of putting the client's best interest first.  In addition to his role as a financial advisor, Dan serves as senior portfolio strategist and annuity specialist for the firm.

Dan received his Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan in 1991.  He joined General Motors and worked in Powertrain engineering for 13 years.  After receiving his Master's in Business Administration from the Univerity of Michigan - Flint in 1999, Dan began to pursue his current career as a trusted financial advisor and became registered in 2000.  He holds his Series 7, 6, 63, and 66 securities registrations along with his Life Insurance and Variable Annuity Licenses.

Dan enjoys giving back to the community and is involved with several non-profit organizations.  He is the Charter President of the Grand Blanc Optimist Club which dedicates itself to the development of our youth with hope and a positive vision.



Tracy Hensler

Chief Operations Officer

As one of the premier firms in the industry, we have refined the independent brokerage category and created the next generation financial network - one designed to provide service beyond our client's expectations.

As the Chief Operations Officer for SBIP, Tracy oversees the design, enhancement, implementation, and reporting for the firm's day-to-day back office financial, customer service, and human resources activities.  She is the leader for designing, building, and overseeing the firm's implementations for systems, processes, workflows, and procedures. 

Tracy holds a Master of Science and Bachelor of Science Degree in Business from Central Michigan University.  Prior to her current role at SBIP, she spent 30 years working in the automotive industry holding numerous leadership roles within the Human Relations field.



Jen Kniivila

Director of Service Operations

Jen is the Director of Service Operations and works closely with all Sapphire Blue Advisors in servicing our clients and making them feel like family.  Prior to starting with the company in 2006, Jen was a mortgage loan officer and processor since 2001, with 15 years total thus far in the finance industry. 

If you ask Jen what her favorite thing about her job is, she will say that it's meeting new people and developing lasting relationships with our clients.  In her spare time, she loves to spend time with her family, or behind the camera as a freelance photographer.

Lindsay Huppertz

Director of Marketing and Client Communication

Success was once measured by location, location, location.  Today we believe its communication, communication, communication.  We don't expect you to become an expert in the investment management world, but we do believe that you should be kept informed.  Our clients have access to an ala carte system of communications which include weekly market updates, monthly communication via mail/phone custom account reviews, meetings with your advisor, webinars, and events to keep you informed at the level you want to be. 

Lindsay graduated from Western Michigan University in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance.  She has held numerous positions within the finance industry supporting the marketing and development of proposals, presentations and management of client communications.

Lindsay is a two-time world champion rider showing American Saddlebred Horses since she was 4 years of age.  In addition to riding horses, she is active with various  intermural sports such as; basketball, volleyball, and softball.  When she isn't mastering one of these activities she loves to catch a golf game.   

Angie Todd

Manager of Communications

In 2012 Angie joined our team as a student intern and eventually took over as the manager of communications.  She manages our database system and the administrative tasks in the office.   Database management has been around for years.  Our Redtail database and communication system allows us to make sure you receive the information you need, when you need to receive it, and only when it's specific to you. 

Angie is passionate about getting involved and making a difference in the community. She received several academic awards for Lake Fenton including economics, biology, anatomy & physiology, journalism, and multiple art awards. In addition, she received an honorable mention from the Michigan Interscholastic Press Association (MIPA) for a journalism article she wrote on religious diversity. She performed as the treasurer for Lake Fenton's Kiwanis International group which aided the community by raising money and bringing people together.

Angie is currently a college student at the University of Michigan - Flint, working toward her bachelor's degree in business. In her free time, Angie enjoys spending time with family, friends and her dogs Sammy and Marlie.



Kathy Snyder

New Business Development

Kathy received her Bachelor of Science degree from Western Michigan University with a major in Dietetics. She spent 18 years as a Registered Dietitian educating and helping others to achieve healthy lifestyles. While still an advocate of healthy eating, exercise and living, she has added promoting a healthy financial lifestyle to her long list of accomplishments. "My husband is a physician and as a registered dietician we both found healthy living to be an automatic part of our lives. What we found challenging was the complicated world of Wealth Management. As clients of SBIP we recognized that there were so many things that we needed to do to get the state of our financial health in order." Her fascination with the industry led her to a career change that allowed her to take the principals of maintaining a healthy personal lifestyle and adapt them to help people succeed at achieving a healthy financial one.

As a Series 7 licensed advisor, Kathy works in new business development at SBIP where she searches out individuals that may be missing opportunities to achieve that healthy financial lifestyle. It is a true caring and desire to help people that makes her so comfortable in this industry.

Kathy lives in Flushing with her Husband Dr. Kevin Snyder. They have 2 grown daughters pursing their lives and careers in Grand Rapids, MI. She is active in the community, serving on the Board of Directors for both Mott Childrens Health Center and Greater Flint Area Sports Hall of Fame.
